The Meepo brand is very well known amongst the electric longboards enthusiasts. It's one of the founding brands of the "Budget e-boards" category, which is known for excellent ride characteristics and affordable price. It's also worth saying the Mini 2 model is something new even for them. Never before has Meepo tried to pack so much power into such a small board. But the result is worth it!

Right at the beginning, it's important to note that Meepo Mini 2 is available in 2 distinct variants.

Meepo Mini 2 Standard electric skateboard is based on the Meepo Classic 2 electric longboard and is meant for care-free commuting, that's why it uses the famously smooth Hobbywing ESC.

Meepo Mini 2 ER electric skateboard is based on the Meepo V3 electric longboard, be it the extremely powerful motors, battery or so-called LINGYI ESC.
These characteristics predetermine this board for aggressive riders, who don't want to be limited in any way.

So what do both version have in common?

Both Meepo Mini 2 Standard and Meepo Mini 2 ER use a deck made from 7 layers of Canadian maple, 76 cm in length and 23cm in width.
The rear end of the deck is bent upwards (resulting in so-called kicktail), allowing you to grab the front end of the board just by stepping on it, removing the requirement of bending over if you want to pick the board up.
An interesting feature is situated in the front of the board, where a stripe of rubber is recessed into the deck, preventing damage on impact with an obstacle.

Another thing they have in common is the use of the excellent "Shredder trucks", which are custom trucks carefully crafted for electric longboards intended for high speeds, developed by Meepo.

And let's not forget the 90 mm wheels from Taiwanese made polyurethane, that will last up to 3000 km of riding.

But where lays the difference between these 2 variants?

ESC

Meepo Mini 2 Standard uses the Hobbywing ESC made famous by WowGo for its smoothness.

This ESC is perfect for a pleasant ride where there is no need for extremely strong acceleration or braking performance.

Meepo Mini 2 ER uses LINGYI ESC V3.0. This electronic speed controller is charged with smart features and extreme power.

For example, it offers "smart turn-on" feature, where you just push the board forward and it automatically turns on. You also have an option to choose from 4 riding modes, ranging from beginner to professional

This ESC is known for its extreme acceleration and strong brakes, that's why it's more suitable for aggressive riders.

Remotes

Meepo Mini 2 Standard is supplied with the standard Hobbywing ESC. This popular remote is used by other companies as well, for example by WowGo in their 2S, Mini and KT models, or by Ownboard. Battery status and speed mode is signalized by LED lights on the remote and the speed modes are controlled by dedicated hardware buttons.

Meepo Mini 2 ER is supplied with so-called Meepo MR remote. It has a built-in LCD display, which presents you with all the information you need for a perfect ride, such as your speed, distance of your current trip, the lifetime distance traveled on your board, battery status of the board itself and the remote, and more.

Battery

Meepo Mini 2 Standard is powered by 4 Ah battery, composed of Samsung 20R cells in 10s2p configuration.

This battery provides a max range of 18 km.

Meepo Mini 2 ER is powered by a different battery, introduced exclusively by Meepo.  This battery consists of Samsung 40T 21700 cells, in a 10s2p configuration, with a capacity of 8 Ah.

It means that the battery has the same capacity as the famous Sanyo battery while providing double the discharge rate (30A vs 60A). Thanks to this, the new Meepo Mini 2 ER with this battery has a max range of 32 km and is extremely powerful.

Motors

Meepo Mini 2 Standard has 2 HUB motors with a combined power of 2x400W, providing enough power for a 40 km/h top speed.

Meepo Mini 2 ER has the same 2 motors as the Meepo V3 electric longboard with a combined power of 2x540W, providing enough power for a 46 km/h top speed.

As you can see, both variants have their advantages and its not an easy choice.

If you are looking for an electric skateboard meant for comfortable short-distance commute, the Meepo Mini 2 Standard, with its 19km range, smooth Hobbywing ESC, 800W power and a top speed of 40 km/h, is a solid choice.
